Caitlyn Jenner says transgender athletes shouldn’t compete with biological girls in sports


California Republican gubernatorial candidate Caitlyn Jenner, who is transgender, doesn’t believe transgender individuals who identify as female should compete with biological girls in school sporting events.

Jenner, an Olympic champion, said transgender athletes should not face off against biological girls due to the “question of fairness.”

“This is a question of fairness. That’s why I oppose biological boys who are trans competing in girls’ sports in school,” Jenner told TMZ. “It just isn’t fair, and we have to protect girls’ sports in our schools.”

A number of states have passed legislation to regulate whom transgender students can compete against in sports. Conservatives argue that allowing transgender individuals who identify as female to compete with biological girls and women would present them with an unfair advantage, while Democrats argue that such a policy would isolate and discriminate against transgender individuals.
