Boyfriend in custody after missing Georgia teacher’s body found in Mexico


The boyfriend of a missing Georgia teacher whose body was found in Mexico has been arrested in connection to her mysterious disappearance, prosecutors said.

Fidel Barragan, 28, was taken into custody after 24-year-old Alexandra Morales’ remains were discovered last week on the side of the road in Guadalajara, Univision reported.

Morales, a first-grade teacher at Benefield Elementary School in Gwinnett County, was reported missing after her family was unable to reach her on her vacation to Mexico.

Morales’ body was found in Guadalajara after she went missing while on vacation.GoFundMe

She was last heard from her on Oct. 30, when she attended a concert in Zapopan, near Guadalajara.

The circumstances surrounding her death are not clear.
