Boy missing after falling from London’s Tower Bridge into River Thames


A 13-year-old schoolboy fell from London’s Tower Bridge into the River Thames and is missing, according to reports.

The student, who attended Ark Globe Academy, was traveling with a friend on a bus Tuesday when he got off the vehicle early near the iconic bridge and reportedly fell in the river.

A woman dove in to save the student, who was screaming for help, but she was only able to grab his school jacket and bag, a witness told The Mirror.

Ark Globe Executive Principal Matt Jones called the incident “distressing news.”

“It is with worry that I share news about [the boy], a Year 8 student at Ark Globe Academy,” Jones wrote in a letter to parents, according to Yahoo News.

“On the morning of Tuesday, April 20, [he] did not make his way into school despite travelling on a bus with a friend in full school uniform,” the school administrator said.
