President Biden and first lady Jill Biden will travel to Houston on Friday to survey some of the damage in Texas caused by this month’s severe winter weather.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki hinted that the trip would happen “as soon as this week” on Sunday, telling ABC News that Biden was “eager” to show his support for Texas but wanted to wait so he wouldn’t “take away resources or attention.”
Several dozen people have died in Texas this month after winter storms crippled the state’s power grid and cut water supplies for millions of people.
