Biden solidifies lead in Wisconsin and might be pulling ahead in North Carolina: Polls


Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is ahead, according to new polls in North Carolina and Wisconsin, two swing states President Trump likely needs to win in November to keep his office.

A pair of CNN polls released on Tuesday put Biden ahead of Trump by 3 percentage points in North Carolina, which has 15 electoral votes, and by 10 points in Wisconsin, which has 10 electoral votes.

The North Carolina poll surveyed 1,006 respondents from Sept. 9-13 and carries with it a margin of error of 3.9 points. In previous polls in the state, the results have shown a very close race. A poll from WRAL-TV and SurveyUSA that covered the same time frame put the race at a tie, a relative rarity among polling results.
