Biden raises nearly $400M in September

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden raised $383 million in September and entered the final month of the 2020 campaign with $432 million to spend against President Trump.

Biden’s September haul pushed him past $887 million in the third quarter, making the Democratic nominee among the most prolific fundraisers in presidential campaign history. Biden campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon said in a series of tweets that the former vice president’s fundraising prowess was “driven by our grassroots supporters” — small, online donors who she said were responsible for $203 million of the $383 million raised last month.

The Biden campaign added 1.1 million new contributors in September and now boasts a list of 5.5 million donors since the Democratic nominee launched his bid in April 2019. Trump’s September fundraising totals were not yet available. But Biden raised significantly more than the president in August.
