Biden pledges to reveal clear court-packing position before Election Day


Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden pledged to reveal his position on court-packing before the election and expressed a reluctant openness to the possibility of expanding the Supreme Court.

“I have not been a fan of court-packing because I think it just generates what will happen with whoever wins. It just keeps moving in a way that is inconsistent with what is going to be manageable,” the former vice president said in an ABC town hall on Thursday.

Republican moves to fill the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat with President Trump’s nominee, Judge Amy Coney Barrett, despite early voting for the Nov. 3 election being underway have prompted calls from those in the left wing of the Democratic Party to pack the court with liberal-leaning justices they favor.
