Angelina Jolie visits Capitol Hill for summit over Violence Against Women Act


Angelina Jolie brought some Hollywood glamour to to swampy DC on Tuesday.

The A-lister visited Capitol Hill to meet with Democratic Senators about reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).

“I’m grateful for these timely and valuable meetings with Senators, especially focused on provisions for children’s health,” Jolie, 46, said in a statement.

Photos showed the star, a longtime human rights activist, wearing a chic black skirt-suit and matching stilettos and mask as she rode the Senate subway and walked through the Capitol.

The starlet took the Senate subway ahead of meeting with lawmakersRod Lamkey – CNP

She was also pictured sitting down with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to discuss the law, which expired in 2019.

Jolie recently told The Guardian she feared for the safety of her children and family during her marriage to Brad Pitt — and also claimed she was attacked by Harvey Weinstein early in her career.
