The brother of prominent South Carolina attorney Alex Murdaugh — who abruptly quit his family law firm and claimed someone shot him in the head — said he was “shocked” to learn about his sibling’s alleged misappropriation of funds and drug addiction.
“I was shocked, just as the rest of my PMPED family, to learn of my brother, Alex’s, drug addiction and stealing of money,” Randolph “Randy” Murdaugh IV said in a statement Wednesday, according to Bluffton Today, referring to firm Peters, Murdaugh, Parker, Eltzroth and Detrick PA.
“I love my law firm family and also love Alex as my brother. While I will support him in his recovery, I do not support, condone, or excuse his conduct in stealing by manipulating his most trusted relationships,” wrote Murdaugh, a partner at the firm.
