A Georgia cop anointed the man charged with killing unarmed jogger Ahmaud Arbery as an unofficial neighborhood watchdog, according to a new report.
“Your neighbor … is Greg McMichael. Greg is retired Law Enforcement and also a Retired Investigator from the DA’s office,” a Glynn County, Georgia cop allegedly told a resident who had alerted the officer to a possible break-in.
“[McMichael] said please call him day or night when you get action on your camera,” the officer told homeowner Larry English in a text exchange verified by English’s lawyer, according to a screenshot of the message obtained by TMZ. English listed the cop in his phone as “Officer Rash.”
It was English’s construction site that Ahmaud Arbery was believed to have entered just before McMichael, 64, and his son Travis, 34, allegedly gunned down the 25-year-old on Feb. 23.
