Abbott launches reelection bid for Texas governor

Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) announced on Sunday that he is running for reelection as Texas governor, in what would be his fourth term should he win in 2026.

Abbott, 67, made the announcement at a “Future of Texas” event in Houston on Sunday evening, where he also unveiled his new campaign slogan, “Let’s Roll!”

“As Texans, we will defend this state with every fiber of our being. We will protect what we built, finish what we started, and lead Texas into its glorious future,” he said. “And that’s why tonight, I’m here to announce I am running for reelection as your governor for the great state of Texas.”
